41ST STREET PLAZA
Dedicated in 2009, 41st Street Plaza is an exciting, family-oriented recreation destination with multiple interactive water features, a playground, picnic areas, a covered pavilion, restrooms, and a river overlook. The $2.8 million Plaza was privately-funded in its entirety, with Tulsa-based QuikTrip Corporation as the lead donor in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary, its employees and their families.
The Plaza’s water fountains and splashpads delight children of all ages, offering a cool respite during hot Oklahoma summers. The water features normally operate from May through September, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with brief, periodic shut downs for water treatment. The large playground has equipment suitable for both younger and older children, while nearby turf-covered play pyramids offer additional fun. Visitors can enjoy picnics with the ample park furnishings and a covered pavilion. A river overlook, parking and restroom round out the Plaza’s facilities, home to seasonal events such as the local library system’s Summer Reading Roadshow for children.
Due to its popularity, the Plaza operates on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
Areas suitable for picnicking are scattered throughout the park. Many of the rest stops along the trails offer tables and benches with views to the river. Playground equipment is located on the east bank at 19th Street, 41st Street and 96th Street. Please refer to maps for more detailed information about parking, restrooms and other amenities.
